This is a fabulous "Horror" movie. The ending really clobbered me.

That's one way to refer to the most ridiculous ending to any "horror" movie (quotation marks most apt) I can think of.

I know Browning has a big rep, but except for FREAKS I always found his stuff kinda clunky, and this is no exception. Interesting o see how early Lugosi started exploiting/cheapening his image.
