Edward Woodward, R. I. P.

Actor Edward Woodward dies at 79 - KansasCity.com: "The agent for English actor Edward Woodward says that he has died after suffering from illnesses including pneumonia.

Woodward, known for roles including the American TV series 'The Equalizer' and the film 'The Wicker Man,' was 79."

This is sad news. "Breaker Morant" is one of my favorite movies. Edward Woodward was an marvelous and underrated actor.

I thought the original version of "The Wicker Man" was a great movie of horror and suspense, but I found it so disturbing I'd never see it again. Not that I need to - it's still burned into my memory.

It wasn't until the final credits of "Hot Fuzz" that I realized he was in that movie; Time had certainly left its mark.

But being a TV Univese guy, it's for the role of McCall that I'll remember him. "The Equalizer" was probably the best depiction of NYC in the 1980s..... Godspeed.

Not the Equalizer!!!! I had such an old man crush on him....
