Texas Doesn't Lead the Way

NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - NOAA: July Temperature Below-Average for the U.S.: "The July 2009 temperature for the contiguous United States was below the long-term average, based on records going back to 1895, according to a preliminary analysis by NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C."

Meanwhile, in my part of Texas, we've had the hottest, driest summer on record.

By this time next week, San Antonio will have blazed past 50 days with heat in excess of 100 degrees. The previous record was 35 days in one year.
