Very happy (and surprised) to see "After the Thin Man" in there. And From Russia With Love, along with For Your Eyes Only, are my fav Bonds.

MAGNUM FORCE was better than DIRTY HARRY? And FRENCH CONNECTION II better than the original?

Did he see the same movies I saw?

There's no way I will ever agree that ALIENS is better than ALIEN.

And am I the only one who thinks THE GODFATHER 2 is actually quite boring?

I agreed with pretty much all of the choices except FRENCH CONNECTION II. What a bore. Got better at the end, but too late.

How About Manon of the Spring? I saw this on a double bill with Jean de Florette and came out of the theatre speaking French.
OK, now where is article when the remake is better than original?. The Virginian. & The. Maltese Falcon comes to mind.
French Connection II – give me break. Magnum Force –ehh -not so much.. Aliens –very close.

Agree on FC2, it was a big letdown. Goldfinger is my favorite Bond movie, and I still prefer the original Thin Man.

TFC2, for a needle-phobe like myself, was a harrowing experience...not better than TFC, but certainly more squirm-inducing.

As someone who hated ALIEN (this film was All Kinds of Serious Dumb), and was bored by ALIENS, and who tends to think that each ALIEN sequel was better than the previous film, I'll go along with this assessment...but, like many others cited on this list, the first film set a low bar to be jumped.

BEFORE SUNSET, however, was certainly better than the fine BEFORE SUNRISE.

Hey, Fred Blosser--how about A SHOT IN THE DARK as an improvement over THE PINK PANTHER?

Todd, I'll agree with SHOT IN THE DARK over PINK PANTHER.
