Snow in Alvin

It rarely snows here, so naturally even a thin dusting is cause for excitement. I took a few shots last night around 10:00. The snow is all gone this morning.

Better you than me, Bill. I hate the stuff.

I saw this morning that New Orleans (where it also snowed) has only had 7 days of any measureable snow in the last 60 years.

I was there for one of them, Christmas of 2004.

Over in Beaumont they had four inches that stayed on the ground in the shade. Kids were building snowmen. Pictures at http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/

Beaumont got a lot more than we did, obviously.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the third sign of the Apocalypse.

I'm not sure of the number, but it's in there somewhere.

I love it when people down your way get a little snow and totally fall apart. Here in Saskatchewan we don't even call it snow until it covers the streets and doesn't melt. Before that it's just crystal rain.
