My normal 45-minute commute home in the evening has gone up to nearly an hour. The AM commute is still pretty much the same. I drive a little over 20 miles one way on the tollway which is, now, Congestion Central. Highway 290? That's just a parking lot. Weird to hear folks say "I can't wait until Houston's 'normal' congestion returns."

I don't recall that people paid all that much attention to the traffic signals in Houston anyway. At least, not out west where I lived. Seemed like they figured they could keep on going as long as they had seen the light when it was green.
