Old Folkies Still Score

The Associated Press: Loni Anderson marries folk singer Bob Flick: "LOS ANGELES (AP) — Loni Anderson was married Saturday to Bob Flick, a founding member of the 1960s folk group The Brothers Four.

The ceremony was attended by friends and family, including son Quinton Reynolds, who walked the 'WKRP in Cincinnati' and 'Nurses' star down the aisle. Reynolds is Anderson's son with Burt Reynolds, whom she divorced in 1993."

I always was more of a Jan Smithers man (or boy, when the show was new, or young man), but good for them.

Lucky guy.

Bailey Quarters/Jan Smithers was really cute. I had a real thing for her. But Lonnie, man she was a bombshell and they didn't have her play dumb which was one of many pluses for the show as far class and quality go.

I had a thing for Mr. Kotter's wife, Julie (Marcia Strassman), too (I've always had a thing for librarian/school teacher types, as well as pin up/bombshell types... hell, I like pretty much any type I find pretty, I've even seen some really cute Goth babes; in fact one of the best moments of my life was when I got to tell Elvira that she was so much more beautiful in person than on film). Marcia still looked pretty good in the TV series based on Tremors a few years back.

Yesterday I was treated to Francine York as a brunette on Family Affair and a blonde on It Takes A Thief.

I'm glad Doc is of an age to remember some of the same TV ladies that I do. I saw a couple of early '70s films recently on Fox Movie Channel with Barbara Parkins and had forgotten how gorgeous she was. Fox indeed.

Parkins was a doll, all right. Another lovely from those days is Kathie Browne.

Ruta Lee was on Ironside last night. What a honey.

More when I get a break from She Who Must Be Obeyed.
