Never Say Never

Hydrox Redux: Cookie Duels Oreo, Again - WSJ.com: "Hydrox, the defunct chocolate-sandwich wafer, is returning for one more rematch with its nemesis, the Oreo.

Bowing to more than 1,300 phone inquiries, an online petition with more than 1,000 signatures and Internet chat sites lamenting the demise of the snack, Kellogg Co. has decided to temporarily relaunch Hydrox, the left-for-dead cookie."

But Postum is still gone, much to the despair of Seventh Day Adventists and Mormons (and my mother, who after abdominal surgery hates the taste of "real" coffee but loves the taste of Postum) everywhere.

Wow. I hadn't realized that Postum (or Eagle Snacks) had disappeared till seeing a segment on TODAY. Back when, the distinction between Oreo and Hydrox that I noted was that Oreo's wafers were/are more candy-like, Hydrox's more cakish. We'll see if Kellogg chooses to keep tradition alive.
