Obsolete Skills

How many do you have?

I still have a portable analog tv set with rabbit ears (well, actually, a single rabbit ear or less savory bit) which I have to constantly adjust when changing stations...given how digital tv is even more sensitive to environmental perturbation, when I buy an adaptor for this one, assuming the switchover goes forth on its revised schedule, I suspect I'll be adjusting the antenna on this set for some years to come.

Knowing how to splice any sort of cassette tape is rapidly becoming at least as antiquated as any of these...

I have three B&W sets (and one color set) with rabbit ears. I don't know if I'll spring for adaptors.

I'm batting a thousand. Damn. (My wife adds: what about using a Telex or TWX?)

7/10. No shorthand, or mixing gas and oil. I once did multiplication on a slide rule. I think.

I clicked through to the "A-Z" list and scrolled down to about "I". It was interesting to see how many of the "obsolete" skills relate to the computer world, which made things like the rotary dial phone and dial-type channel changer (along with vacuum tubes) obsolete.

I didn't see using a pencil and yellow legal pad on the list, I'll have to check again.
