In Case You Were Wondering Where the Ark of the Covenant Is

A Lead on the Ark of the Covenant - TIME: "When last we saw the lost Ark of the Covenant in action, it had been dug up by Indiana Jones in Egypt and ark-napped by Nazis, whom the Ark proceeded to incinerate amidst a tempest of terrifying apparitions. But according to Tudor Parfitt, a real life scholar-adventurer, Raiders of the Lost Ark had it wrong, and the Ark is actually nowhere near Egypt. In fact, Parfitt claims he has traced it (or a replacement container for the original Ark), to a dusty bottom shelf in a museum in Harare, Zimbabwe."

the big money is that its in some church in ethiopia. you wouldnt catch me near the thing: 50,000 people dropped dead just because someone opened it without permission once.

And Time's highly paid editors don't know the difference between "cast" and "caste". Pfui!

All one has to read is Jeremiah 3:15-16 to realise teh futility of looking for it. It will never be found. Consider Jeremiah words 3:16 In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land,” declares the LORD, “men will no longer say, ‘The ark of the covenant of the LORD.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made. (NIV)

That last words in that scripture "nor will another one be made" does suggest that the previous one was destroyed.

The inference of this verse does strongly suggest that the Ark of the Covenant was probably destroyed or taken away by the Babylonians when they captured Jerusalem in 586 B.C.

I think the fact that it is the Lord speaking about the whereabout of this sacred box, we should take Him at His word. Any further query into the whereabouts of teh Ark is as futile as the prophets who went to look for Elijah after he had been taken up in teh chariot of fire (2 kings 2:16-18).
