What's Going on with the Comments?

Some people seem to be having trouble with the comments, or not being allowed to comment. I'm not sure what's going on. The blog's settings are such that anyone, even those without a blogger account, can comment, but in some cases that's not happening. Just keep trying, and I'll see if I can dig up an answer.

Just sitting in my Galveston condo room commenting for the fun of it. I bet Alvin is over _that_ way.

I was not able to comment on this entry

Well, keep trying.

The new format for comments might be throwing a few old hands, I note with plodding sincerity.

That's probably it. Blogger likes to change stuff up without warning.

Comments. Comments? We don't need no stinkin' comments!

If I was guessing (and I am), I would guess that the animated graphic interferes with whatever is on the screen with it at the same time.

I tried to comment on the item just above this and was unable to get the comment screen to open.

That could be it. Or it could be blogger. Or it could be strange gremlins from outer space. We may never know.

Animated graphic? My pop-up blocker must be doing its work there. Or do you mean the cover gallery?

Still nothing.

Blogger had a shutdown for "maintenance" earlier today.

I'm just saying. . .

The format (at least on my screen) now requires one to sign up for a Google account in order to post a comment. That wasn't the case before; any old casual visitor could post without having to surrender a first-born to Google. The new system took me awhile to figure it out, since my computer savvy is less than that of a brain-damaged chimp. I was also having trouble a few minutes ago because the system wouldn't recognize my Googleaccount password, but that seems to be cured now.
