I've Changed My Mind about the Sky Yacht . . .

. . . this is what I want for Christmas.

Go ahead and bid, Bill. You can afford it and you'll regret it forever if you don't.

Note the bid. Note the "Reserve Not Met."

I'm guessing the Harry Warner collection is what we might have here. I've yet to understand why one would create a "Reserve" higher than the minimum bid. Set out your damned minimum bid ahead of time. But this fellow clearly enjoys being coy.

My major charitable investment this season is at my name's hotlink.

I agree, Todd. I hate auctions with a "reserve."

Remember, Bill . . . "You never regret the books you buy, only the ones you didn't buy."

However, in this case, for a fraction of that price you could buy enough pulps and pulp reprints to keep you reading for a long, long time. Also, while there's a lot of great stuff in that collection, there's a lot of not-so-great stuff, too.

You're right about both things, James, but it sure would be great to have all that stuff, the good and the not-so-hot.
