The Top 50 Movie Endings of All Time

filmcritic.com: The Top 50 Movie Endings of All Time: "I've seen Chinatown a dozen times, and while it's a great movie, two specific things about it stick in my mind: Jack Nicholson's bandaged nose and the final line of dialogue. Acting, directing, a great script… these are essential to any film. But a classic ending, now that can really make a movie.

We spent literally months brainstorming and corralling the 50 films with the absolute best endings we've ever seen. We're not talking about the last half hour. We mean the last minute of movie. You know, the ending."

Where's I AM A PRISOMER FROM A CHAIN GANG? First time I saw that ending a chill ran through me.

"I steal"

"Casablanca" - as in most other categories - is right up there at the top.

Obviously Jeff agrees with the Cap'n. And I agree about Casablanca, as well.

I agree with both Casablanca and I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang. Also sorry not to see The Killing on the list.

How about HIGH NOON with Gary Cooper throwing his badge in the dirt. Another film is the neglected masterpiece RESURRECTION. What a wonderful ending as Ellen Burstyn cures the little boy of his fatal illness with a loving embrace.
