My Office

Okay, so Lee Goldberg wants to know what my office looks like. Here's what I see when I enter the room (the books, as you've probably guessed, are double-stacked). You can get a better look by clicking on the pic.

This is what I see when I look to my left when I'm sitting at the computer. More double-stacked books. I just hope Judy never finds out I posted these pics. She's embarrassed by my clutter.

This is the secondary computer, which is to my back as I write. More books (double-stacked) are on the left (or my right if I'm sitting at the primary computer).

So, I take it the infamous collapsing bookshelf has been fully shored up and buttressed against further gravitational unfortunalities?

For the time being. I envy totally envy the bookshelves you built for your house. I have no talent in carpentry, except for slamming my thumb with the hammer.

I like the way your office looks... very colorful. And yes, a lot of books, but they're neatly sacked. Not like they're upsidedown, backwards, and toppling to the floor.

Catalogued? Hahahahahahahahaha!

I do have mylar covers on some of the paperbacks, but they're not the best quality. I have a feeling that nothing can keep the paper from deteriorating.

Your office looks like Felix Unger's compared to mine, Bill. I wouldn't dare post a picture of it. Just imagine the storage room of a messy, overstocked used book store, with a computer desk tucked into one corner.

Thanks Bill.

This will help my situation at home with the wife having to deal with all my books, paper and educational stuff that a Principal and book junkie has acquired over a life time.

I bet you can put your finger on whatever you're looking for.

Well, Aldo, let's not get carried away. Sometimes I can put my finger on what I'm looking for. But there are other rooms in the house that look much the same, and I rent an air-contitioned 10 X 12 storage unit that's full of books. Plus I have some books stored at the college where I taught. So I can't always put my finger on something.

This looks like Citizen Kane's library compared to mine.

Bill, we need close-ups so we can read the titles.

Click on the pic, then click again. That's about as big as they get. Then you'll have to get out your magnifying glass.

It's a goddamned vision of heaven, is what that is. Wow.

Ah-ha! I see a copy of Weird Business in there. Great anthology, that!

I'm dying to know how many of 'em you've read.

Is that two copies or volumes, yellow and red, of Cat Crimes? Any good?--Karin

Yeah, those are Cat Crimes volumes. All those books on top of the computer desk are ones I have a story in.

What else would you expect from a retired English professor? I think it's wonderful. I wish I had the stamina to read all those books. I encourage my 2 children to read all the time. Reading is intelligence.
