Like Jayme Blaschke, I think the Kinkster could be the best governor of Texas in generations. Not that that's saying a whole lot. Can Kinky win? Well, W. Lee O'Daniel did, touring the state with a hillbilly band and the Bible. It would be great to see Kinky making whistlestops with the Texas Jewboys and the Torah. This could be the most entertaining political campaign in Texas in fifty years.

Wow, Bill. Thanks for posting the O'Daniel link. I had no idea he established the Light Crust Doughboys. Fans of Riders in the Sky owe him a debt of gratitude for that.
Other than that, his record is about par for the course as far as Texas politicians go. And no one's even mentioned "Ma & Pa Ferguson Go To Town"...
I would like to see this happen, if only for the possibility of seeing the state song change to "Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in Bed."
